Train, bus, taxi — phrases you need to successfully reach your destination.
How to ride:
- Buy a ticket or top up your IC card (ICOCA/Suica) → go through the ticket gate (tap or insert ticket) → board the right car → exit through the gate (tap or settle the fare).
What to bring:
- A transit IC card (or mobile IC card), some coins, and your phone (with a transfer navigation app like Yahoo! Norikae Annai).
Note:
- For the Shinkansen or limited express trains, you need a separate express ticket in addition to the basic fare ticket.
- Talking loudly on the phone inside the train is not allowed.
- If you board the wrong direction or miss your stop, just explain to station staff — they'll help you sort it out.
